<p>You will develop an advanced level of appreciation of the understanding of terrorism, counter-terrorism, security, transnational crime and policing in the modern world. Modern-day terrorists and transnational organised crime groups will be examined alongside developments in security and policing, and international organisations to prevent/counter them. You will develop your ability to understand, explain, and critique current issues in global terrorism, transnational crime, policing and security and compare different theoretical approaches to particular case studies.</p>

Global Terrorism and Transnational Crime

Critical and evaluative skills at an advanced level in relation to the theory of global terrorism.

Evaluate, synthesise, and apply theories and techniques to analyse and understand critically contemporary issues in preventing and countering the threats to security posed by terrorism and transnational crime.

Communicate conclusions to specialist and non-specialist audiences, through reasoned argument and a synthesis of information relating to the history of global terrorism.

Understand the connections between terrorism and transnational crime in the modern world including theoretical perspectives and explanations from a critical angle. 

Advanced level skills in processing and communicating information in either written or oral form.
