This module provides the opportunity to further develop your knowledge related to anaesthetic, surgical and post-anaesthetic practice in relation to altered anatomy and physiology. You will build on the skills and knowledge you developed in the year one related to physiological changes that occur in patients during anaesthetic, surgical and post-anaesthetic practice. You’ll also be introduced to selected clinical emergencies within the hospital environment and corresponding response techniques, enabling you to gain an understanding of the principles of shock and homeostasis. You’ll also explore patient scenarios and relate these to the physiological changes that occur.
