This module explores the explanations for crime and disorder, which you will relate to the ways that criminological thought has developed through the time. These issues will be set in a social, political, theoretical and historical context.
In this module you relate explanations for crime, criminal behaviour and disorder to the ways in which criminological theory has developed throughout the last two centuries. This requires you to consider exploration of the variety of criminological perspectives including the classical, positivist, radical and realist schools of thought. The explanations will be set in social, political, theoretical and historical context. The module will use examples of policy and practice to illustrate the theories as appropriate.
