In this module you will examine terrorism in the context of promoting an understanding of the roots and dynamics of contemporary conflicts. Debates about the legitimacy of political violence and definitions of terrorism will be explored by applying theoretical framework to case studies.  This approach will also be used to promote an understanding of methods of counter-terrorism and conflict resolution.

Learning Strategy

This module will be taught by a combination of lectures and seminars. Students’ learning will be supported by Blackboard, which will contain information about the module and staff involved in teaching it, as well as relevant content in course documents and websites.
