This module builds on the knowledge and skills developed in Year 1 and 2, enabling you to further develop your critical understanding of assessment skills to recognise and respond appropriately to the deteriorating patient. You’ll have the opportunity to expand your range of assessment skills and apply them under minimum supervision whilst managing and coordinating the care of people with mental health care needs with a range of conditions varying in complexity and in a range of settings. The module also assists you to develop skills in advanced care management and complex discharge or transfer planning.

Systematically and critically understand the signs and symptoms in relation to altered physiology of a person with mental health care needs presenting with acute and complex care needs. 

Critically appraise and apply evidence-based principles that support safe and effective care and management of people with mental health care needs presenting with acute and complex care needs within and across organisations. 

Critically apply underlying legal principles to the safe administration of medicines to people in mental health care areas. 

Outline the legal requirements for medicines administration across a range of settings to meet the specific service needs. 
