In this module you will develop your knowledge of the relationship between mental illness and criminal activity. You will explore a range of mental illnesses and disorders as a cause of offending through a written coursework assignment, and will have the opportunity to consider the links between theory and practice by completing a written coursework assignment on the appropriateness of treatment for offenders within the forensic mental health system.
This module intends to explore the many factors that have shaped the delivery of current forensic services. It will enable you to explore the range of topics that relate to forensic care, and examine the impact of multi-agency working within this field. On completion of this module you will have gained sound theoretical knowledge on which practice is based.
