This module introduces you to the anatomy of the lower limb and helps you to develop an understanding about different anatomical structures and their function in walking, including bones, joints, muscles and tendons. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and recognition of anatomical structures, as well as your understanding of gait.

Compulsory for eligibility to apply for Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration and membership of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists .

Demonstrate an understanding of the function of musculoskeletal anatomical structures of the lower limb in human movement.

Understand the normal morbid anatomy of the lower limb and foot.

Be able to identify the structures within the lower limb and foot.

Apply and explain the mechanical principles to movement of the lower limb.
