A 5,000 word written assignment which provides a critically reflective assessment of own personal professional development and practice in terms of knowledge, skills and values relevant to CEIAG and work with individuals and groups. This assignment will show a clear and fully theorised understanding of the principles and practice of work with individuals and groups.

<p>This module examines the professional role of a careers guidance professional in order to enable you to develop as reflective practitioners who draw on developmental supervision. It considers the theory, principles and practice of working with individuals and with groups within a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) setting. The module explores techniques, approaches and a range of models appropriate for use by careers guidance practitioners, and it provides the opportunity for you to critically assess and evaluate your own skills, knowledge and values as a reflective careers guidance practitioner. You will consider ethical practice and professional boundaries and analyse your own professional practice.</p>

Critically evaluates and reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of own professional practice with individuals and groups, in terms of knowledge, skills and values, making use of reflective recordings and drawing on developmental supervision to do so.

Critically reflects upon the principles and practice of group work and work with individuals.

Critical and systematic comprehension of the purpose, values, and principles of careers guidance, and appraises their relevance to own practice.

Demonstrates anti-discriminatory practice, and challenges behaviour and attitudes effectively.
