Reflective writing
This formative assessment is designed to provide an opportunity for you to get feedback on your approach to reflective writing.
You are asked to: 
Observe a full guidance interaction choosing one of the example one-to-one guidance interaction recordings providedUse the one-to-one guidance assessment form to critically analyse the effectiveness of the guidance interaction you have observed.Consider your thoughts in light of the assessor comments- which will be shared with you after you have had chance to form your own ideas.Select a reflective model to write a critical reflection on the impact of this observation on you and how it might impact your practice going forward.

Assessment 1: Practical Skills Assessment

This  assessment is designed to provide an opportunity to demonstrate your competence in undertaking a one to one career guidance interaction and as a reflective practitioner. 
There are 3 steps to this assessment. 
Undertake and video record a full guidance interaction  (ideally 45-60 minutes in length- minimum 30 minutes) including the creation of an action plan for the clientUse the guidance assessment paperwork to self- assess and start the reflective processChoose a reflective model to structure a written reflection on your guidance interaction 
 
 
 
 

Practical Skills Assessment

Assessment 2: Written Assignment

A 3000 word written reflective  assignment focused on the development of your professional career guidance practice with individuals.
Your critical reflection will be supported by practical evidence of a minimum of 2 further one-to-one guidance interactions  that have been assessed as competent during your work- based learning experience (1,000 word equivalence)

Written Assessment

This module examines the professional role of a career development practitioner in order to enable you to develop as reflective practitioner who draws on developmental supervision.
It considers the theory, principles and practice of working with individuals within a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) setting.
The module explores techniques, approaches and a range of models appropriate for use by careers guidance practitioners, and it provides the opportunity for you to critically assess and evaluate your own skills, knowledge and values as a reflective careers guidance practitioner.
You will consider ethical practice and professional boundaries and analyse your own professional practice.

Effective Careers Conversations

Effectively applies theory, models  and skills relevant to one-to-one career guidance conversations to practice, demonstrating a good level of competence

Critically reflects upon the principles and practice of careers work with individuals.

Critical and systematic comprehension of the purpose, values, and principles of careers guidance, and appraises their relevance to own practice.

Critical and systematic comprehension of appropriate practice approaches to careers guidance, and achieves a coherent theoretical justification for them in relation to own practice.

Demonstrates anti-discriminatory practice, and challenges behaviour and attitudes effectively.

Critically evaluates and reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of own professional practice with individuals, in terms of knowledge, skills and values, making use of reflective writing and drawing on developmental supervision to do so.
