A portfolio of evidence that collates evidence of the development of a range of skills essential at degree level study e.g. annotated bibliography, summary of a key theory/issue from a quality source, blogs and critical analysis on developing skills, relating personal development to appropriate theories. This portfolio will be supported by a 500 word reflection identifying development undertaken and required by the student.

Assessment 1: Written Assignment

A 2,500/3,000 word essay summarising and evaluating a contemporary issue or theories relevant to the course of study. A list of essay titles will be provided by the tutor, or a topic can be negotiated with the tutor.

<p>This module encourages the development of the academic study and communication skills necessary for success on your course. In preparation for study at degree level you will submit a portfolio of evidence of your developing research and academic skills, which is supported by a reflective essay on your own development (together worth 40% of the module marks). In an essay (60%) you will explore and evaluate contemporary issues and theories directly related to your course of study.</p>
