Activities providing opportunities for formative assessment will generally be integrated into the teaching and learning process and apply to all components of summative assessment.  The nature of the formative assessment tasks used will be at the discretion of the tutor, to include for example, workshop exercises, quizzes, group discussions.

Assessment 1: In-Class Test

MCQ1 test is designed to test their context and breadth of knowledge of course materials. Questions will cover material from the whole course, learning outcomes 1,  3, 4, and 6. Open-book.

In-Class Test

Assessment 2: In-Class Test

MCQ2  test is designed to test their depth of knowledge of course materials. Questions will cover material from the essential aspects of Operations Management: Design of Operations and Management and Control of Operations, Learning outcomes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6.  Open-book.

<p>The operations function is central to the effectiveness of any organisation because it is responsible for delivering the final product/service to the customer. Operations Management is a broadly based subject area.  It concerns the management of the assets, processes and resources that are used to produce goods and/or services.  Nearly every organisation therefore, requires the skills of Operations Managers in transforming its inputs, which might include materials, energy, information, patients, etc., into outputs in the form of goods and services.</p>
