<p>The focus of this module is on the contribution that economists can make towards a better understanding of contemporary transport problems and issues and how this contribution can and has manifested itself in transport policies.  Although the module will concentrate on the UK, there will be an opportunity for comparative examples to be drawn from the rest of the EU and beyond.</p>

Evaluate arguments for specific user charges for the use of transport networks.

Evaluate the contribution of transport economists in the development of transport policy.

Understand the arguments for and against the privatisation and deregulation of transport 	markets.

Understand how major transport investment projects can be appraised.
