Activities providing opportunities for formative assessment will generally be integrated into the teaching and learning process and apply to all components of summative assessment.  The nature of the formative assessment tasks used will be at the discretion of the tutor, to include for example, workshop exercises, quizzes, group discussions.

The aim of this module is to introduce you to the theory and practice of social entrepreneurship.  Key differences and similarities between business and social entrepreneurs will be investigated and exemplified.  Relationships between social entrepreneurs, communities, politics and culture will all be discussed.  The module will equip you with the necessary tools, techniques and knowledge for them to demonstrate your comprehension of social entrepreneurship within local and global society and to identify and propose solutions to social problems.  You will learn how to assess the societal impact and value of social entrepreneurship.  The module will also assess the efficacy of the various support mechanisms that exist to aid and engender social entrepreneurs.
