<p>This module enables you to consider the ways in which history is understood, interpreted and displayed in a range of public settings. It will include input from industry professionals such as staff from Heritage Quay and this will allow you to consider the practical and well as the theoretical issues that affect public history in the 21st century. The module also considers the different research methodologies and primary source materials, including material culture, film and oral histories that used in creation of public history content and you will explore the historiographical debates and controversies that shape its curation. As part of the assessment strategy, you will be expected to design and deliver a public history output working individually and in groups. This typically includes input from a real-world partner, such as a museum, archive or other heritage body.</p>
