Process and Performance Project - AHD3100

Assessment 1: Written assignment (coursework)

Students will compose a log book documenting and reflecting on the process. The students will discuss this log book documentation as part of an on going dialogue with their director. This dialogue along with the documentation will form the continual and formative assessment.

A portfolio of materials which analyse and reflect on the creative process, typically two or three written studies and/or submission of annotated working notebook.

Assessment 1: Presentation

Individual contribution to a final performance event or other presentation. 

Presentation

You will contribute in contrasting capacities to the preparation of a performance which will be staff initiated and/or directed, developing and extending their own skills and knowledge.  You will document the process and share the results of your analysis through reflective reports. The project will be rooted in an area of staff research and teaching expertise, and its initial focus will be staff initiated. Typical examples might include: An ensemble physical theatre performance using a new play as a starting point; an intertextual multi-media performance; an adaptation of a contemporary novel using multiple storytelling techniques. Although the performance may be staff directed, you will be expected to take clear responsibility and initiative for co-ordinating different aspects of the process and/or for running sessions.
This module will contribute to the your personal development plan through an ongoing dialogue between the you and the director in which you will receive feedback on your role within the module and will be encouraged to reflect upon the relationship between work undertaken in this module and skills and knowledge gained elsewhere on the course and in other projects.

have researched, discussed, compared and analysed the material used as the basis for the performance from a range of theoretical and practical perspectives.

have demonstrated an understanding of the relationship between work undertaken on this module and the skills and knowledge gained elsewhere on the course and in other projects.
