Assessment 1: Project work

The formative element of assessment is ongoing and takes the form of regular feedback and discussions between students with their supervising tutor, as they plan, prepare, and develop their project. Students will receive feedback on issues such as their progress on identifying and planning a suitable project, the ongoing media work they are completing as part of the project, and their preparations for the submission of summative assessments 2 and 3, the portfolio and report. Supervisors will also provide guidance to students on managing their relationships with clients, and helping to navigate any issues or conflicts which may arise

Assessment 2: Portfolio

A portfolio evidencing work completed during the module. This will feature artefacts demonstrating media outputs and other forms of engagement. It will also include a log of the hours of work completed, signed by the client or clients, and one or more written references where these are available.

Assessment 3: Written Assignment

An evaluative report, reflecting on the work completed in Assessment 2 and relating the student’s experiences to relevant academic literature on media work.

A short, written proposal, in which students must outline their plan for a suitable project or placement.

<p>This module provides the opportunity for you, working individually or as part of a small group, to devise, plan and create some form of media output or outputs, working in partnership with an external organisation or other suitable client. This could take the form of an individual work placement, or individual or group project work.</p>
