<p>The production of sports media content always takes place in the context of specific industrial and organisational structures. This module provides you with an introduction to the key theories, concepts and methods needed to understand those structures, their impact on the professionals and organisations working within them, and the ways in which they shape the sports media landscape. This includes legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks and concepts within which sports media organisations and occupations operate. The module places particular emphasis on political economic approaches to the sports media and production studies, but attention will also be given to theories of creativity, branding, and industrial conceptions of their audiences.</p>
