This module addresses BIM at the project level. The aim is to provide understanding and support the critical evaluation of the key issues in collaborative, integrated BIM based projects. It includes a broad understanding of process change needed to enable the achievement of BIM benefits in practice, focused to detailing BIM applications in practice.
The construction industry can benefit from a number of BIM related applications and tools across the whole lifecycle of built assets. Therefore, in this module you will see applications and case studies of BIM at the design process, at the construction process, and during the operations and management of built assets.
The module focuses on the importance of managing information across the lifecycle and discusses associated technical issues.
In the module you will explore design and construction integration and collaboration across disciplines. Finally, you will study BIM implementation at an operational level. A guest lecture series will reveal live cases and diverse strategies and roles that different construction professionals have on BIM adoption across projects.

be able to conceptualise how BIM can be implemented at the company and project levels across design, construction and operations, including diverse applications such as 4D planning, 5D costing, between others.

be able to demonstrate high level of competence in the appraisal of various BIM processes and tools, and ability to apply BIM strategies to projects.
