This module addresses critical and professional practices concurrently and aims to promote research as a fundamental facet of an overall skill set. That to be articulate is an essential part of working with the still and moving image in all external and professional contexts. The core of the module continues to develop your awareness and understanding of the theoretical debates and discussions surrounding photographic practice. You will continue to develop the skills of critical analysis through a series of formative tasks, based on key texts that are explored through historical and contemporary photographic imagery. The professional aspect of the module evolves through a series of case studies which you will analyse to establish areas of practice which will be relevant to self-directed study. There will be regular opportunities for you to present findings to your peer group, to help build confidence and skills of communication through regular practice and formative feedback.
