Assessment 1: Portfolio

A portfolio of work consisting of activities associated with research for, and for the consumption of design.

This module will consider the ways in which designers and consumers receive and deconstruct information to make decisions about creating, buying and using industrially designed products and products for the transport industry. The material covered will further the understanding of your own discipline by examining, deconstructing and analysing the relations of people to everyday material artefacts. 
The module supports the formulation and application of appropriate research methodologies through case-study evaluation(s); this knowledge will enable greater understanding of the user or future users of products.
The module encourages the exploration of ideas, the formulation of opinions and the ability to comment upon current design issues and practices through sound research, enquiry, debate and discussion with specific relationships to current studio briefs.
