The production of an expert witness system. A mock case along with the findings will be presented to the student, who will then carry out a pre-assessment of the case and report the findings in an impartial manner adhering to the roles and responsibilities of the expert witness as laid down by the Crown Prosecution Service. 50 hours work. (Final Assessment)

Assessment 1: Written Assignment

A report on the role of forensic science within the criminal justice system, with a particular focus on one evidence type. If the student is overseas, then this report can be on that country’s justice system rather than the England and Wales Criminal Justice System.(~5,000 words)

Written Assignment

<p>This module will give the student a systematic understanding of the importance of quality control and assurance, not only in the forensic science laboratory, but throughout from crime scene to court room. This module will also give a critical overview of the presentation of evidence, both written and oral.</p>
