<p>This module provides the basic knowledge for the design and analysis of chemical /biochemical reactors. It also provides the basis to acquire further skills needed for the solution of quantitative problems encountered in the process industries. Effects of non-ideal flow conditions, ideal mixing and fixed or fluidised bed catalytic reactors will be covered.</p>

be able to explain and justify assumptions that are involved in the design of reactors.

be able to demonstrate competence in the application of the principles of mass and heat balances to chemical and biological reactor calculations.
