You will identify and explore a health, social work or social care related topic of your choice through written coursework involving a review of key research literature. You will be supported in your study by your academic supervisor, who will help you to work successfully towards objectives focusing on your interests and career aspirations. 
This module aims to provide you with the ability to undertake an extensive literature review on a health, social work and social care related topic of your choice. You will critically review the literature and synthesise the work of different authors in order to draw new conclusions, taking into account your judgement of the strength of the evidence they produce. The process of reviewing the literature, judging the strength of evidence and drawing conclusions will be facilitated by the allocation of a personal academic supervisor.
This module will provide MSci Social Work students with the underpinning knowledge that is required to meet the Chief Social Workers’ Knowledge and Skills Statements and MSci Health and Social Care students with the underpinning knowledge required to meet the National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care.
