Presentation that demonstrates how candidates applied a range of teaching methods in supporting the student to meet their specific learning needs to meet the requirements and learning outcomes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.

This module provides you with the opportunity to qualify as a stage two practice educator in accordance with the requirements of the Practice Educator Professional Standards. You will explore theories around adult learning,and evaluate a series of teaching methods as well as your own learning and supervision needs as a practice educator. You will also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in designing and planning learning activities to facilitate the learning of others and developing learning opportunities for students. You will be assessed through a critical presentation.
You will explore how you can continue to perform as an effective practice educator in accordance with the Practice Educator Professional Standards for Social Work. You must have 2 years’ experience in social care and be a qualified social worker and be prepared to supervise a social work student.
You will be able to explore and critically analyse your professional development as a practice educator and reflect on how you can use a variety of methods in practice education. You will demonstrate critical reflection on your development as a practice educator through feedback from colleagues, HEI tutors and other assessment sources.
You will consider HEI processes and quality assurance systems related to practice education. You will demonstrate that you have an applied knowledge of relevant research, policy and legislation in order to support students adequately. You will be able to transfer your practice educator skills to new roles in mentoring, supervision, teaching and/or assessment.
You will support and practice educate a student on placement whilst undertaking the module.

Candidates must be registered as a social worker with Social Work England.

Apply a range of teaching methods when supporting students in practice settings.

Interpret and analyse applied knowledge of contemporary issues in social work research, policy, legislation and practice including agency policy, procedures and practice. 

Interpret HEI quality assurance systems in relation to practice learning. 

Demonstrate ability to negotiate HEI processes in relation to practice learning.

Demonstrate enhanced competence in the Practice Educator Professional Standards.

Evaluate own professional development as a practice educator.
