Formative assessment will be through PDP reviews. This will be supported via a range of online resources which can be accessed via the virtual learning environment. Students can monitor their progress by formative assessment in the form of feedback from supervisors, self-assessed and tutor-assessed tests, reflective logs.

Completion of a 6000 word or equivalent reflective structured Portfolio demonstrating a range of surgical assessment and management skills.

<p>You will demonstrate that you adhere to the principles that underpin safe surgical practice. This module allows you to focus on the progress you have made in your surgical training post by exploring your surgical activity and focusing on the new procedures you have performed, as well as your management of post-operative complications. You will critically reflect on your surgical practice and learning. Learning will take place via reflective-work based learning activities, lectures and practical workshops.</p>

Developing Podiatric Surgical Practice (Advanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeship)

Apply critical reflection to develop, monitor, review, modify and evaluate an appropriate surgical care plan.

Critically discuss a range of theories, concepts, principles and their application related to podiatric surgical practice.

Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in tackling and resolving surgical problems.

Critically appraise surgical practice in respect to the regulatory frameworks controlling practice including the HCPC’s SOP’s for podiatry and podiatric surgery, its guidance on conduct and ethics, HEE Advanced Clinical Practice values and behaviours and other relevant national frameworks such as safeguarding, service evaluation and audit.
