Project proposal and supporting ethical documentation.

This module provides you with an opportunity to integrate the skills and learning afforded by your Master’s programme. You will develop a proposal and have the opportunity to implement and analyse it into an advancing practice project. The emphasis will be on a project which meets your individual educational and professional developmental needs whilst having the potential to advance your clinical practice. The work undertaken must demonstrate appropriate design, methods and techniques along with interpretation and evaluation of the findings reported to a high professional standard. Your project will be either a literature review using a systematic approach, empirical study, practice/service audit or service evaluation. An element of the project undertaken will address the implications of wider dissemination of the work in terms of strengths, limitations and its relevance to the evidence-based agenda within health care deliver. To develop and demonstrate your competence, you will be working in a healthcare setting and your progress in meeting national core and area-specific capabilities will be assessed whilst working under the supervision of an appropriately qualified Educational Supervisor.

Advancing Clinical Practice - Project

Demonstrate evidence of core and specialist Advanced Clinical Practitioner competency development. 

Present the research in a report format appropriate to the nature and aims of the project and the intended audience.

Carry out this proposal to professional standards in relation to both competence and ethical considerations.

Use appropriate techniques to formulate a valid project question and synthesise research/quality improvement theory to design a small-scale project relevant to advancing clinical practice.

Put into practice, modifying and defending as appropriate, a specified design for a project.

Critically review and identify an area of practice that requires further development and/or investigation appraising its implications for your role in advancing practice, care or service delivery.
