You will have the opportunity to explore the public health role of the midwife and examine the national public health agenda and government initiatives that are used with women and their families across varying neighbourhoods. This will be assessed through coursework where you will undertake a neighbourhood profile and an analytical essay. You will also explore how midwives are involved in inter-professional partnerships.
This module provides you with the opportunity to explore the public health role of the midwife, and how midwives can be involved in inter-professional partnerships working with women and their families across varying neighbourhoods. The national and international public health agenda will be scrutinised, as will the government initiatives in place relating to public health.
