This module provides opportunities for you to develop a critical understanding of the theories, principles and concepts underpinning current practice within physiotherapy. Using scenario based learning, you will promote an enquiry based, critical understanding to the evaluation of the theoretical and practical approaches to care.
The module content delivery also encompasses the following key themes:• Development of manual skill, clinical reasoning and critical analysis• Development of the contextual application of clinical reasoning skill in specific areas of rehabilitation• Understanding the various models of health with application to Physiotherapy, encompassing the biological and biopsychosocial models of health. • Critical evaluation of the communication strategies employed throughout rehabilitation in empowering clients
You must choose three elements to study from an agreed list that reflect the breadth of physiotherapy practice.

Critically appraise strategies utilised in the clinical management of patients across specific areas of physiotherapy practice.

Analyse the evidence base of the efficacy of communication strategies used in the Physiotherapeutic management of specific conditions.
3.
Debate the evidence base to support current management strategies of specific conditions.
4.
Critically evaluate appropriate communication strategies giving contextual accounts of their use.
