Assessment 1: Written plan

This module will be assessed both formatively and summatively. Formative assessment will be set by the module leader and detailed on the VLE. This will include feedback on your proposed presentation topic and structure.

Assessment 2: Practical Skills Assessment

2. Observation of clinical practice including the question and answer session 120 minutes. The live observation of practice is undertaken in the apprentice’s workplace and must last for 90 minutes (&#43;/- 10% at the discretion of the independent assessor to provide scope for an apprentice to demonstrate their full abilities).- Final Assessment Task LO 1,2 and specific EPA domains

Practical Skills Assessment

Assessment 1: Presentation

The apprentice will develop and deliver a 20-minute presentation (&#43;/- 10% at the discretion of the independent assessor to provide scope for an apprentice to demonstrate their full abilities) to an assessment panel followed by a 25 minutes (&#43;/- 10% at the discretion of the independent assessor to provide scope for an apprentice to demonstrate their full abilities) question and answer session to seek further clarity.

Presentation

The aim of this module is to facilitate your exploration and learning about contemporary podiatric practice. Modern podiatric practice encompasses many areas of specialist work which you will continue to develop throughout your professional career following registration. This will include the core elements of practice that underpin your work such as theories of evidence based practice and healthcare ethics.
For your assessement you will explore an area of interest within podiatry that will be given to you from the EPA of the apprenticeship process. You will be assessed in accordance with the EPA format which includes a presentation, with a time of questions. You will also undergo an observation in your normal place of clinical practice.

Compulsory for eligibility to apply for  Registration  with the Health and Care Professions Council and for membership of the College of Podiatry.
