Written Assignment

You’ll study contemporary psychological research and theories of personal and intimate relationships. This will include material on different perspectives on personal relationships, physical attractiveness and attraction, how people form, maintain and end intimate relationships, sex differences in relationship behaviour, online relationships, and attachment and self-esteem in intimate relationships. You will develop a critical, in depth understanding of contemporary psychological research and theory on personal and intimate relationships. Each lecture will focus on a specific topic in the area, and your learning will be supported with additional materials accessible via the VLE. At the end of the module, you will produce a critical review of the psychological literature in one topic area, synthesising the material and identifying some of the key issues and challenges involved in understanding this topic.
