Assessment 1: Written plan

Tutors will check students’ knowledge and understanding through seminars and each group will be offered a group tutorial to discuss the plan for their presentation.

Assessment 1: Presentation

A group presentation focusing on one foundation area, RE, or a corresponding area of the EYFS Framework. (60%. Word count equivalence 2000 words). The presentation will be marked as a group. The presentation is eligible for tutor reassessment on an individual basis (eg, due to unavoidable absence). (Knowledge and Understanding Learning Outcomes 1&amp;2, Ability Learning Outcomes 1&amp;2).

Assessment 2: Project Work

A poster focusing on a different foundation area, RE, or corresponding area of the EYFS Framework. (40% Word count equivalence 1000 words). The poster is eligible for tutor reassessment. This is the final assessment. (Knowledge and Understanding Learning Outcomes 1&amp;2, Ability Learning Outcome 2).

Project Work

<p>This module will introduce you to teaching in the foundation areas and RE, incorporating cross-curricular dimensions, across EYFS and the full Primary phase. You will be taught key subject and pedagogical knowledge. You will develop your understanding of planning and appropriate assessment strategies for different subjects. You will be introduced to key theories underpinning effective teaching in the foundation areas and RE, including those relating to cross curricular themes and dimensions. You will be made aware of research, theory and policy relating to the broad rationales for teaching the foundation subjects. You will be assessed through a group presentation worth 60 % of the marks and an individual poster worth 40 % of the marks.</p>
