<p>This module introduces you to the differential and integral calculus which form the basis of much of the subsequent mathematical topics. You&#39;ll cover methods of calculating derivatives and integrals and explore applications of integration. Examining and learning how to solve first order differential equations and second order differential equations with constant coefficients.</p>

Understand the concepts of differential and integral calculus underpinning introductory mathematical concepts and generalisation to multiple dimensions.

Solve simple first and second order differential equations with constant coefficients.

Demonstrate competency in identifying relevant differentiation and integration techniques and executing the calculations.

Calculate partial derivatives of functions of multiple variables.

Have an appreciation of the idea of a differential equation as a way of describing the dynamics of a system.
