In the last few decades knowledge has become recognised as a key resource for the successful growth and management of organisations. The growing importance of the knowledge resource to organisational success has led to the need for organisations to create and manage the distribution of this key resource. Knowledge Management is concerned with the challenges of generating, disseminating and institutionalising knowledge and learning through organisational systems, strategies and processes.
This module will enable students to explore the multifaceted nature of knowledge and learning within organisations, including organisational activities that generate knowledge and organisational barriers to knowledge creation and dissemination. This module explores the benefits of learning and knowledge management for individuals and organisations.
