<p>This module introduces you to key areas in both legal and financial aspects of business You will look at how financial information is prepared, presented and interpreted by internal and external users and consider aspects of employment and contract law relevant to non-specialists. As well as delivering theory and technical information, practical application is presented through worked examples, group working and discussions.</p>

Professional Aspects of Business

Analyse the performance of a business using ratio analysis.

Understand the different needs of different users of accounting information (both internal and external).

Use financial information for planning, decision making and control.

Understand and interpret basic financial statements. 

Understand and analyse the key elements of contract and employment law.

Identify and access primary legal sources and the law creating functions.

Analyse a case study and prepare a critical written analysis of a problem relating to contract or employment law principles.

Understand the role of budgeting with business and the concept of investment appraisal.

Analyse and interpret the information contained in basic financial statements

Effectively communicate conclusions, advice and the results of study and analysis accurately and reliably.
