Assessment 1: Written assignment (coursework)

Students will carry out an informal poster presentation setting out what they intend to research; the methods they will use; and the key theories/concepts they will critically apply, and verbal formative feedback will be given on this. In addition, formative feedback will also be given throughout dissertation supervision meetings, as well as in dissertation support Workshop sessions which will focus on a series of indicative topics, e.g. ‘Planning your dissertation’; ‘How to write your dissertation’; ‘Creating a literature review’; ‘Drafting your findings’.

<p>On this module, you will carry out a substantial, innovative research project. You’ll define your own research questions and select appropriate methods, supported by group workshop sessions and supervision meetings. This module will enable you to tackle exciting, original research at the very forefront of scholarship on digital participatory culture and social media, as well as focusing on topics and issues that you find the most interesting and rewarding.    </p>
