Communication across Cultures provides an introduction to culture-specific interactional norms, by comparing linguistic and interactional behaviour in a range of cultures, thus giving you a wide comparative overview of interactional norms across cultures, and boosting your practical competence in interpreting cross-cultural differences in terms of language behaviour. It also considers what happens when people from different culture interact, when situation factors may interfere with culture-specific norms.
