This is a professionalization module where you will collaborate with others to develop a script from initial concept to professional pitch. At the end of the module you will deliver a complete script ready for screen production. You will develop skills in editing and polishing your work to a high standard and will be taught how to pitch your work. You will be expected to research the market for your screenplay and present your findings to the group. As part of this you will be encouraged to develop interdisciplinary collaborations with other students in the Screen Academy studying on the BA (Hons) Film Making, BA (Hons) Screenwriting, BA (Hons) Performance for Screen, and BA (Hons) Music and Sound for Screen courses. You will be expected to behave as though you are seeking to have your script produced as a screenplay. The production of a detailed report explaining your choices, alongside the script you have submitted, is integral to this module.

be able to collaborate with other disciplines / professions involved in pre-production.

be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the context of pitching a script for screen production.

be able to effectively communicate the outcomes of creative collaboration and reflect upon the processes involved. These may include how to identify creative partners, how to pitch ideas, and how to present work specific to a particular screen production context or genre.

be able to edit and polish creative work to a high standard.

be able to produce (with tutorial support) a substantial script with a practical screen production vehicle in mind.
