Assessment 1: Written assignment (coursework)

The formative element of this module is ongoing. Students will carry out presenting tasks in preparation for and during each weekly practical class and will receive regular verbal feedback from the tutor.

Assessment 2: Portfolio

A portfolio, consisting of a showreel of presentation assignments across media formats selected by the tutor. Examples may include recording an as-live piece of location audio, conducting a video interview, scripting and recording a voice over for a piece of video, and filming a video piece to camera. The showreel is intended to be incorporated by each student into their PDP portfolios, as part of career planning.

<p>On-Screen Training: Becoming a Presenter offers you technical and critical training for a variety of media roles including fronting television and radio programmes as well as the practices of narrating, presenting and interviewing for a range of media formats. The module also puts the practice of presenting into the wider contexts of changing cultural production in an era of mediatisation and platformisation, allowing you to develop a deeper understanding of the role of the presenter.</p>
