<p>Whether the emphasis is on film, television, or another area of the creative industries, the production of content always takes place in the context of specific industrial and organisational structures. This module provides an introduction to the key theories, concepts and methods needed to understand those structures, their impact on the professionals and organisations working within them, and the ways in which they shape the media landscape with particular reference to film and television industries. This includes legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks and concepts within which media organisations and occupations operate. The module places particular emphasis on political economic approaches to the media and production studies, as well as theories of creativity, branding, and industrial conceptions of their audiences.</p>
