<ul>
<li>Students normally aged at least 20 on the date of their enrolment onto the course.</li>
<li>Successful completion, with appropriate grades, of a University or College Degree or qualification of equivalence from their own country or elsewhere on an agreed and circulated list. Full entry requirements are available on the ISC website. </li>
<li>An English level equivalent to at least 5.5 IELTS for the course.</li>
<li>Students with IELTS 4.5-5.0 can take the English Language Preparation Programme in order to raise their English language skills to IELTS 5.5.</li>
</ul>

Assessment regulations are as detailed in the University of Huddersfield Regulations for Awards, relevant sections of which are repeated in the Student Handbook.
60 credits need to be achieved to ensure progression.  University of Huddersfield Condonement regulations do not apply to this course.

Honours Level

Structure

Critically evaluate concepts and techniques in Computing, and to frame questions to achieve a solution, or range of solutions to a problem.

Apply the methods and techniques learned to review, consolidate, extend and apply knowledge and understanding and carry out projects.

Work practically alone and collaboratively in groups to apply and evaluate knowledge of subject area through problem-based tasks.

Demonstrate and exercise independence of mind and thought and organise own independent learning through self-management.

A systematic understanding of key aspects in the field of Computing, including acquisition of coherent and detailed knowledge, at least some of which is informed by the forefront of the discipline, providing an appropriate basis for progression onto a taught master’s in information systems Management.

The conceptual and practical understanding that enables the student to:

- Solve problems using techniques some of which are at the forefront of the discipline of Computing;
- Describe and comment upon particular aspects of current research and developments in Computing.

An understanding of the limits of their knowledge, and how this influences analysis and interpretations based on that knowledge.

Communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

Knowledge and understanding of the commercial and economic context of computer processes and technology.

Use initiative, think creatively and exercise critical judgment in assessing the work of others.

International Study Centre:

<li>Course Assessment Board (CAB), chaired by the Centre Director meeting at the conclusion of the course to review and approve their overall marks and indicate those qualifying for an ISC transcript and progression.</li>
<li>Student panels and student feedback at both module and course level.</li>
<li>Regular Meetings (at least termly) of all staff on the Programme, supported by more formal ISC Course Committee meetings.</li>
<li>Informal ISC Module Assessment Board (MAB) at the end of each term to review module timed teacher assessment results and coursework assessments from that term.</li>
<li>ISC Quality Assurance and Enhancement Group (QAEG) meets quarterly which student representatives attend and the ISC Regional Quality Assurance and Enhancement Group (RQAEG) meets quarterly with an Extraordinary RQAEG where all centres are reviewed.</li>
<li>Annual staff appraisal by the Centre Director to include classroom observation.</li>
<li>Formal staff induction process and annual Training Day.</li>
<li>Liaison between the Centre Director, the ILO, DALO and Link Tutors from the University of Huddersfield.</li>

<li>ISC students are represented on the ISC Course Committee and can voice arising issues either with their Progress Coach, or through the Student Panel.</li>
