<li>Postgraduate Research (including all PhD routes &amp; Prof Doc): 6.5 with no lower than 6.0 in any component. * (unless otherwise specified &amp; agreed)</li>
<li>Regulated courses must adhere to levels set by the regulator for entry (e.g. NMC, H&amp;CPC currently 7.0 with no lower than 7.0 in any component). This supersedes all requirements highlighted above.</li>

Although the University provides opportunities for the accreditation of prior learning (APL) as stated at the following link:  <a href="http://www.hud.ac.uk/registry/regulationsandpolicies/awards/">http://www.hud.ac.uk/registry/regulationsandpolicies/awards/</a>, because of the top up nature of the course and the University APL the first two years of the degree as a part of the entry criteria, no APL will be allowed.

This course does not provide eligibility to register as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or as an ODP or Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  Those who are recruited to this course will have current registration with either the NMC or HCPC on entry (or equivalent if an international student as detailed in 16.8 below).
 
The specific entry requirements and admission criteria for this course are detailed below.
 
This course is available to any Operating Department Practitioner, Paramedic or Nurse from any speciality who holds professional registration based on a qualification below FHEQ Level 6. For international students the professional registration and qualifications must be equivalent to UK requirements.

Utilise a variety of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) strategies to support learning in a variety of environments.

Within the School students are represented at committee level from Student Panels to the School Board. The School also has a Student Council.  Individual feedback on the quality and standards of teaching and learning is received through module and course.

The University has implemented a personal tutor system which for part time students involves personal tutor support from the course leader, module leaders and the learning support team. As students may not be able to attend the University the support listed below is available both in person and online.
 
This system aims to both improve the student experience of learning and teaching, and increase student retention and achievement rates.  Specifically personal tutors:
 
<ul>
<li>Provide a personal contact for the student within the University and the School.</li>
<li>Act as a liaison between the student and course leaders to seek any improvements required</li>
<li>Offer guidance, assistance and support in managing the students’ academic experience</li>
<li>Recognise when the problems presented are beyond the personal tutors’ competence and seek guidance and support for the student through the University and/or School referral processes.</li>
<li>Work with students to review and reflect upon their own progress and if necessary on ways to improve it.</li>
<li>Take part in supportive training events.</li>
</ul>
 
Where personal tutor arrangements do not apply, the first point of contact for students is the Student Hub.
