IELTS 6.5 with no lower than 6.5 in any component.

This course does not lead to professional recognition with NMC and is only intended as for qualified nurses to develop their academic skills.   
 
The specific entry requirements and admission criteria for this course are detailed below.

<li>This course is available to any nurse who is registered to the equivalent of part one of the NMC register in their own country.</li>
<li>Any nurse who has a Diploma level qualification in the country they are registered.</li>

<li>Personal Academic Tutor</li>

The University has implemented a personal tutor system for full time undergraduate students.  This system aims to both improve the student experience of learning and teaching, and increase student retention and achievement rates.  Specifically, personal academic tutors:

<li>Provide a personal contact for the student within the University and the School.</li>
<li>Act as a liaison between the student and course leaders to seek any improvements required</li>
<li>Offer guidance, assistance and support in managing the students’ academic experience</li>
<li>Recognise when the problems presented are beyond the personal tutors’ competence and seek guidance and support for the student through the University and/or School referral processes.</li>
<li>Work with students to review and reflect upon their own progress and if necessary on ways to improve it.</li>
<li>Take part in supportive training events.</li>
</ul>

The course team will incorporate existing University support mechanisms for international students and also combine student support systems in the business school into the course. The international office offers students peer support and guidance throughout the student’s studies to ensure they are supported and can contribute to the course. The business school delivers three non-credit based modules/support systems that develop student’s language skills, cultural awareness, and study skills, these have been successful in supporting international students.  The course team will incorporate these into the student timetable and ensure there is peer support and guidance during the course.
