<li>For school/college leavers who have reached 17.5 years on admission, a total of 112 UCAS tariff points or equivalent or a Pass from an accredited Access course with 45 level 3 credits at Merit or above.</li>
<li>Applications from international students will be considered on an individual basis, and with advice from the University's International Office. Where necessary, applicants will be expected to demonstrate their spoken and written English language skills by achieving a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.</li>
<li>Mature students’ (over the age of 21) applications will be considered on an individual basis taking into account any previous learning and life experience applicable to the particular programme of study.</li>
<li>Applicants with prior learning or prior experiential learning will be considered individually by the School of Arts &amp; Humanities’ Accreditation and Validation Panel, to assess whether it is appropriate to grant general or specific credit towards the course.</li>

<li>The History Subject Area was reviewed in May 2019.</li>
<li>NSS: All Courses within the overall suite provided by the subject area respond to the annual National Student Survey results by adapting to the needs of students. This process occurs at both module and course level.</li>

<li>A Personal Academic Tutor for pastoral and academic support. The course leader is also available for academic support, as are seminar tutors and module leaders. All members of staff have clearly advertised office hours when students are encouraged to seek any help they need.</li>
<li>The Induction Programme which introduces staff and services within the university.</li>
<li>Academic and Personal support within the division which is listed in the Student Handbook.</li>
<li>The development of skills which is embedded into every Foundation level module through essay and document analysis planning, oral assessment preparation and using digital media.</li>
<li>Students are supported in the PDP process through materials in the Student Handbook. PDP runs throughout the first year of the programme via the Personal Academic Tutor system and the embedded ‘Becoming an Historian’ skills workshops. The PDP process is delivered through both formal (taught) and informal means. It is implemented by all staff through the Personal Academic Tutor system. PATs are available to discuss PDP at regular intervals during the degree. The provision of PDP at undergraduate level provides students with ‘appropriate opportunities for personal and professional development’ and to provide for the identification, regular review and recording of each student’s development needs. Responsibility for adhering to the PDP scheme lies with the student.</li>
<li>Students are required to undertake PDP self-assessment in induction week and reflect on their development again in AIX2000 Work Experience Placement at I level. In their final year, students are required to reflect on the experience of the Work Placement and update their PDP and CV as a consequence. The PDP process is also continued in the Dissertation (History in Practice) / Honours Project at H level.</li>
<li>If taking the Placement Year, students will remain in contact with their PAT (via electronic media if appropriate).</li>

This course is run from the School of Arts and Humanities which has dedicated Academic Skills Tutors who deliver a range of skills based sessions on academic skills, writing, language and research. You will also be supported by our student guidance team on non-academic related matters.
The School operates a Personal Academic Tutor System (PATS) which provides you with access to a personal tutor. This system is designed to give you’ academic and pastoral support. Your Personal Academic Tutor may also refer you for specialist support and assessment e.g. for dyslexia.
Across the School’s facitlities you can access excellent a wide range of industry standard software, equipment and specialist workshops resource and school technicians to support a breadth of digital and physical fabrication methods.
