The University’s policy for Admissions is outlined in Section D of the regulations of Awards     Handbook (<a href="https://www.hud.ac.uk/policies/registry/awards-taught/">Regulations for awards (taught courses) - University of Huddersfield</a>). In addition to the standard University requirements, candidates must meet the following criteria for admission.
Students joining the programme from Sino British College, Shanghai are required to meet the following entry requirements;
Pass the NCUK diploma in Events Management at Foundation level (at 40%+)
EAP at grade C or above

Undertake fieldwork with continuous regard for ethics, safety and risk assessment.

Analyse the nature, characteristics, needs and expectations of different consumers through applying consumer behaviour theories and concepts and socio-cultural theories

Display an insight into the structure of event providers and their sectors, and analyse the political, technological, social, environmental and economic factors which affect, or impact upon, the supply of, and demand for, events

Plan, project manage, produce, stage, analyse and evaluate events, including the procurement of support service provision, the application of new technologies and logistics

Demonstrate the numeracy skills required to manage budgets and analyse quantitative data, including that of big data

Analyse and evaluate the quality of the event experience and its impact on the event consumer and/or client and the wider organisation

Display critical knowledge, understanding and application of risk management and legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks relevant to specific sectors

Demonstrate literacy and communication skills in a range of contexts including verbal, auditory, performance, digital and multi-media forms

Write and critique strategies, which recognise and meet the needs of specific stakeholders

Generate and design creative events through ideas/concepts, proposals, pitches and solutions to offer experiences/solutions to a variety of stakeholders needs

All existing tutors are members of the FHEA and new tutors are enrolled on the PgCHE course. All members of staff are active in staff development through their academic research and interaction with the events industry. Tutors regularly visit sector industry related conferences, exhibitions and networking events. The team are all members Association of Event Management Educators (AEME).
Students are encouraged to complete feedback surveys for modules and the course as a whole. Course committee and student panel meetings are held twice a year where student representatives can raise issues and suggestions for improvements to the course.
