In addition to the standard University requirements, the minimum criteria for entry to the Professional Practice course is:
<ul>
<li>An Honours degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent in finance, accounting, economics, business and management or a quantitative science, and</li>
<li>An English Language qualification for students whose first language is not English (normally a minimum of TOEFL 550 (Computer Based Toefl 213) score or a minimum of IELTS 7.0 overall with no element lower than 6.5, or equivalent).</li>
</ul>
Advanced entry onto the courses in the Suite is possible for suitably qualified applicants. In such cases the University’s standard regulations and processes for accreditation of prior learning (APL) will apply.

Demonstrate a critical awareness of techniques and/or methods of financial management and analysis and apply them to real or theoretical issues to propose solutions to complex issues .

17.5     The School is committed to comprehensive student engagement and works actively with the University of Huddersfield Student Union to support this through the student representative system
17.6     Within the School students are represented at committee level from Student Panels to the School Board. Individual feedback on the quality and standards of teaching and learning is received through module and course evaluations.
17.7     An effective external examination system is managed by Registry and all reports are viewed at University, School and course levels.  External examiner and student feedback, as well as all statistical data about the course, is reported through the course committee structure and scrutinised through the University wide annual evaluation process.

19.2     This programme specification document provides a concise summary of the main features of the Suite and the Learning Outcomes that a typical student might reasonably be expected to achieve and demonstrate if he/she takes full advantage of the learning opportunities that are provided.  More detailed information on the Learning Outcomes, content and teaching, learning and assessment methods of each module can be found in the module study guide and course handbook.

Each course has a named course leader, normally based on the subject area, who has responsibility for the smooth operation of the course. The course leaders are also available for academic support, as are module leaders and other teaching staff. All members of staff have clearly advertised office hours when students are encouraged to seek any help they need.

The Learning Innovation and Development Centre (LIDC) provides students with support in understanding and using information and resources around their course and modules. LIDC supports students’ understanding, helping them follow assignment briefs and manage time and processes to produce work efficiently and effectively. LIDC supports students in their oral presentations and writing using academic business English in a professional manner. Students will be introduced to LIDC at induction, and they will be given further support and development in academic skills throughout the course of their study. 
The school’s Student Guidance and Support provides pastoral services to students and support with any non-academic issues that may be affecting their ability to study. The team offers practical advice and support on a wide range of issues, such as Extenuating Circumstances and Extension requests, signposting and directing students to relevant university, school, and course level services. 
Students within Huddersfield Business School are allocated a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT), which gives students timetabled hours with their personal tutor throughout the academic year. This system is designed to be skills and learning focussed, to help them achieve their academic potential, and can provide guidance towards the most appropriate additional support as appropriate.
